At mindmapsearch.org, there is a search box that will look only at well-known mind mapping sites or individual useful articles on mind mapping. This search box ignores the sites made to advertise, the trivial three-line posts about someone's new mind-map, and pages for old software on software download sites.
This is a good way of limiting results to useful ones. If you search for "novels", for example, then everything returned will be related to analyzing a novel's structure with mind mapping or planning a novel with a mindmap (compare with the nine million results returned by a regular Google search for that same word). Choose the form of words carefully: If you search for "novel" you will have many results that mention, for example, "novel ideas" and "a novel approach". There is no need to include "mind mapping" or "mind maps" in the search box. It is implied by the pre-screening of the sites from which the results come.
As well as searching, you can learn about mind mapping from the pages underlying the search engine - its list of sites is set out over several pages, categorized so that you can browse and explore. Click here for their education and training page.
